Grilling, especially when it comes to meat is carcinogenic. The concept is the same as smoking, when you cook meat over flame, and especially if fat drips on the fire, the smoke from the grill adds carcinogenic compounds to the meat. Further breathing the smoke while operating the grill is like smoking a pack of cigarettes. I recommend that you stop grilling any form of meat and that all meat should be cooked on the stove or in the oven. The only relatively safe thing you can grill is vegetables and they should be on foil. You still have the risk however of breathing the smoke from the grill as you cook.
